I am very passionate about being a digital teacher librarian and cannot imagine doing anything else. I got my Master’s Degree in Information Learning & Technologies in 2014. I have been the digital teacher librarian for two years here at Sheridan Green Elementary. I had the opportunity to be a half-time literacy teacher in 5th grade and I have also taught 4th grade. I am very excited to be back in the library!
I celebrated my 28th wedding anniversary with my husband, Alan, this summer. We have two adult children, Preston(27), Anessa(24) and a grandaughter named Adeline. We also have two labrador retrievers named Ammo and Beque.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time at our cabin in the mountains, walking our dogs, whitewater rafting, and spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading and being a lifelong learner.
I believe that all students can learn while having fun in the classroom/library. I also believe that I need to meet my students where they are in their learning. It is a priority for me to look at each student as an individual, therefore it is very important to build strong relationships with them.
I am looking forward to another wonderful year in the Sheridan Green library!
